How Can The Towson Tutor Help?

The Towson Tutor strengthens reading and writing skills for children ages 4-12. During individualized sessions children discover that “meaningful work makes for joyful learning.”

We use a light but focused approach in each session, helping to propel students towards success in reading and writing. As the child gains skills, their self-esteem soars and the benefits overflow into other areas of daily life.

Dyslexia

Dyslexia is not at all a sign of low intelligence, in fact, many people with dyslexia have talents and skills in other areas that far exceed their peers. Due to this misunderstanding, they may feel frustration, failure, and low self-esteem. Sessions with the Towson Tutor are structured and presented in just the right way to meet these challenges.

attention deficit disorder and adhd

Attention deficit disorder can show up as either trouble focusing, difficulty following directions, completing work, and maintaining interest. Children are distracted frequently and often rush due to time constraints. Our structured sessions aid in organizing the child’s approach to learning, and keeping them on task.

boosting A traditional learner

Many children need an extra boost of confidence in their ability to read and write at or above grade level. Children benefit greatly from one on one coaching to fill in gaps in learning and to gain a solid skill base. The Towson Tutor provides a custom approach for each individual child based on their learning style and needs.

Garrison has provided tremendous support for our son who was newly diagnosed with a few learning disabilities. They have worked so hard together and he has made amazing progress during this “unprecedented time.” Garrison is warm, caring and understanding.

Garrison has instilled in our daughter a deep love of learning and an appreciation for hard work and persistence. She provided the highest level of tutoring and worked closely with us and with our daughter’s school to be certain that she was helping her succeed in school and beyond.
