The Learning Bungalow

In the Learning Bungalow we apply an individualized lesson focused around meaningful work geared specifically to your child’s learning needs in the areas of reading and writing many times utilizing multiple learning modalities detailed below.

Let’s discover how your child learns best…

Visual Learners

Visual learners benefit from the use of Idea maps, drawing out thoughts, and even playing our own version of Pictionary for vocabulary and reading comprehension.

Auditory Learners

Auditory learners need to talk through ideas before writing, use speech to text, and listen to playbacks of the work. They also use whisper phones to provide auditory feedback that is refreshing and stabilizing for your child.

Kinesthetic Learners

Kinesthetic learners require movement to learn; such as using large motions to “write in the air”, tossing a ball for sounds and syllables, or dramatizing vocabulary, main ideas and details.

Tactile Learners

Tactile exercises can include hands-on learning with clay or sand, tracing, mazes, manipulating puzzles and letter tiles, using index cards and post-its with words or ideas to move around to work through thinking about sentences and paragraphs.
